Mulder + Kennedy Architects is a creative urban practice established in 1993 by Henk Mulder and Rosemary Kennedy. The partners have more than forty years combined experience designing buildings throughout Australia and internationally. Our projects range from widely-visited public buildings, commercial spaces, with large and small-scale residential alterations.

Typically the range of issues we can readily develop with your initial discussions will include the following:
• Scale, type, complexity, goals and issues, team members, sustainability. • Site, history and context review overlaid with approvals, as desktop and field work, zoning and planning issues, infrastructure, utilities, aspect/prospect/context, existing conditions, micro-climate. • Detailed coordination of search information – soil, infrastructure, surveying, engineering of civil, structure, mechanical, electrical, and acoustic works, interior architecture, landscaping, materials research, budget estimating. • Construction and project values, with a programme can round off the earliest discussions for getting involved in using architecture to best fit the requirements for cost, time scale use, aesthetics, as criteria evolves and becomes important.
We explain the design process and produce design drawings relevant to requirements. We coordinate additional services, trades, and builders, with tendering and contract administration for fuss-free completion of works on site.

Our Expertise
Our design experience encompasses solutions for the inner city, suburban, rural sites, infill and greenfield locations, along with unusual site conditions. We specialise in maximising opportunities from sloping and difficult sites. We apply universal design principles, for people’s wide-ranging abilities.
We understand the importance of safety and security combined with the desire for openness to views and vegetation. Bushfires, lack of water, too much water! Renewable energy! We integrate urban design, landscaping, and detailed design. We resolve an array of regulatory issues with innovation and ingenuity.
Forthcoming changes to the Brisbane City Plan provide very different opportunities for development, which greatly improve the potential of residential property – we assist assessment of site use feasibility and opportunity.
