Environmentally Sustainable Laboratory
The development of an environmentally sustainable laboratory acts as a case study for the reuse of existing medium rise office buildings along ESD principles. Light ventilation water, accessibility, site footprint, consumption, energy generation and recycling have been proposed, considered and established in making the Lab.
Business Village - New Office Buildings
As many as eleven self-contained and individually titled two storey office buildings with a range of business configurations are made available for prepurchase. Each building is sub-dividable with multiple tenancies, or treated as a single tenancy across the two stories. Entry locations, reception planning, data cabling and security all allow flexibility of use.
Amenities are localised as a part of minimising circulation, with shared spaces also provided as roof decks or balconies. The carparking extent serves current access requirements for business, and can be modified later. Landscaping accentuates planned vistas and sightlines.
The choice of materials and finishes modify perceived bulk and proportions of the buildings and proceed to establish character and identity to parts of the site making them identifiable as precincts. The materials are readily found, selectively durable, and can establish labour-effective construction. Internal fitout was based on detailed discussion regarding the the various and different business requirements.
